Things are working again

Most of the time ignoring problems does not make them go away… but in this case… waiting and then updating to a newer version of Wordpress seemed to fix the long-standing problems that I’ve been having with this site. The links that were going nowhere appear to be working again for reasons that I don’t quite understand and (frankly) would prefer not to spend that much time thinking about. I don’t want to be a website designer!
Since I’ve been posting new work on MySpace lately, I’m wondering what to use this blog for… probably work that MySpace finds “offensive”… the few things that have been deleted seem almost random to me… I suppose the MySpacians just delete anything and everything that’s reported as “offensive” by their users. I think I’ve only had two photos deleted at this point and have accepted it as the price one has to pay to be able to reach a wide audience. The funny thing is that I have work that’s up there that’s more “nude” than the deleted photos… and that my models seem to have no trouble keeping their copies of the photo up on their pages. Like I said… random! And somewhat infuriating since there’s no waring, appeal, or explanation. Just the little form message that my photo violated their content rules in some way.
In other news… I still can’t wrap my head around how to use Facebook in a way that’s useful for what I do. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of demographic and geographic search when it comes to finding friends which is why MySpace is so useful to me. If I need to find a potential model between the age of 18 and 21 who is female, who is within 25 miles of my location, Myspace and Model Mayhem can provide me with hundreds if not thousands of results. No so with Facebook.
I also don’t have a firm understanding of the rules of Facebook when it comes to the kind of content that is and isn’t allowed. I assume it’s similar to MySpace… more randomness…
